1-5: Use Your Contacts
Not to be overlooked! This is probably one of the most effective aspects to promote your blog on which you worked hard!
- Friends / Knowledge: The strategy that I find the most effective and the most interesting is to create a list of your relevant contacts (friends, colleagues, bloggers, journalists, etc..) within your connection. Send customized emails to your list to promote your blog and articles.
- Newsletter: Add your latest articles in your monthly newsletter.
- Groups and Forums: Share through groups and forums on which you are active. Ask People Opinion also.
- Signature: Add a link to your last article in your email signature.
- RSS: Your RSS Feed automatically publishes and send an email to persons who are registered.
5-10: The Social Network
- Facebook: Share your article on your personal profile, on your business page, in groups (if set) and using advertisements.
- Twitter: Plan a tweet 2-3 times a day at different times of the day (with different titles of course) and that for the next 30 days.
- Pinterest: Creating a “board” that will contain all your items with attractive images will definitely help in promotion.
- Linkedin: Share your article on your Linkedin profile, in the groups you participate actively (always trying to start a discussion.) You can even create an ad to promote within the platform.
- Google Plus: Share articles with your circles and the general public with an appropriate title for your SEO.
10-15: The Bookmarking Sites
- StumbleUpon: Not to be overlooked, StumbleUpon can be a bomb traffic!
- Reddit: Just like StumbleUpon, Reddit is also very effective to find your articles.
- Digg: Well, Digg is also another social bookmarking site which helps in getting much better traffic.
- Delicious: Help your knowledge after you find your item by adding it to Delicious.
- Technorati: Technorati really an awesome platform for promoting your Blogs.
16-20: Other Relevant Techniques
- Comments: Comment on different blogs is an intelligent way to increase your reputation and get some amount of traffic also.
- Guest Articles: Submit your article as a guest post on other blogs, it will also enhance your popularity and you get quality backlinks also.
- The site IFTTT.com lets you publish your article to more than 50 different sites.
- Read relevant articles and follow your competitors to get some knowledge about their strategies.
- It goes without saying, but my last tip is simply to create a high quality content as we all know “Content is King”. Share your favorite resources, your stuff, your strategies that bring value … all these aspects will ensure that your article will be found by the right people who may in turn Reshare!
